2026 / wk 37-39 / v. 530-531 - Collapsible groups in list and search views
NewCollapse groups in list and search views. Click a group header or its chevron to hide its rows. The header shows how many rows are hidden, and the collapsed state stays with the view when you leave and return. Everyone using that view sees the same state.
ImprovedCount words in a panel. The "Count words" command reports word, character, and node counts for selected nodes and everything below them. With no selection, it counts the panel node and its descendants.
ImprovedUse numbered periods in date filters. Search and filters accept periods such as NEXT 14 DAYS, LAST 3 MONTHS, and PAST 2 YEARS. Day periods start today; weeks, months, and years use whole calendar periods.
ImprovedKeep less precise dates visible in grouped views. Grouping by day now keeps rows dated only to a month or year in their own groups after the day groups. Existing saved views may show rows that were previously hidden. Turn this off for a view with "Show less-specific dates" in its grouping options.
ImprovedTurn an inline reference into text. Use "Remove reference" in an inline reference's context menu to keep its text without deleting the node it points to.
ImprovedMore responsive search and backlinks. Navigating large workspaces stays more responsive while backlinks load. Searching and opening nodes with many children also causes fewer pauses.
ImprovedMeeting transcripts in Markdown exports. Workspace Markdown exports include meeting transcripts as linked files, along with source material and earlier transcripts.
ImprovedClearer workspace loading. If opening Tana takes more than five seconds, the loading screen shows which stage it is working on. It also explains when the server cannot load a workspace.
FixedRestore nodes from trash. Restoring locked settings nodes and opening trashed view definitions work again. An "Internal references" group shows which configuration or search nodes still refer to a node in trash.
FixedTranscript speakers keep their names. Meeting transcripts no longer label every participant as the same speaker.
FixedMarkdown exports work again. Structured Markdown exports include supertag field values again, and Markdown export commands open the export chooser.
FixedWorkspace downloads recover from interruptions. A workspace no longer gets stuck loading when a snapshot download is interrupted. Tana keeps the last usable cached snapshot while it downloads a replacement.
InfoUse "Add to day" for daily notes. The command that adds a reference to a daily note is named "Add to day". "Remind me" still does the same thing for now, so existing hotkeys and saved commands continue to work, but it will be retired.
