NewGPT-5.6 Luna, Terra, and Sol available as AI models. GPT-5.6 Luna, Terra, and Sol are now in the AI model picker for commands and chat, with reasoning levels from None to High. Luna adds an Extra High level, and new chats use Luna at Medium reasoning. Choosing your own model is part of a paid plan.
NewThree shapes for Markdown workspace export. Exporting a workspace as Markdown now asks how to arrange the ZIP. "Workspace outline" mirrors your outline as folders. "Supertag folders" gives each supertag a folder of tagged items. "Structured vault" adds YAML fields, tag schemas, and links between notes, for moving a workspace into another tool. The last two let you choose which supertags to include.
NewClick a table calculation to copy it. Click the result under a table column to copy it. Sum, Average, Median, Min, Max, Count, Values, and Unique copy the value as displayed, and a short confirmation tells you it reached the clipboard.
ImprovedIn-app help answers from the current documentation. AI help now draws on the current Tana Outliner documentation, refreshed daily, so answers match what the app does today. Citations point at the right page and keep their numbering across follow-up questions. Keyboard shortcuts and example markup render as written, and thumbs up or down on an answer records your rating.
ImprovedCalmer calendar and date picker. Past events are dimmed so the rest of the day stands out, the day and week grids fill the panel instead of stopping short below the last hour, and the all-day row drops its label so events get the width. The date picker closes once you pick a date, and empty sections no longer leave a gap behind.
ImprovedWorkspace API tokens stay manageable on any plan. The workspace API tokens tab is available on every plan, so you can review and revoke tokens even when creating new ones is not included. Deleting a token revokes it right away, and the tab shows whether it is loading, has no tokens, or could not reach the server.
ImprovedTana Outliner starts through a slow network. Tana Outliner retries a workspace snapshot that stops responding for a moment, rather than failing startup on the first timeout. A blocked web font request can no longer hold up loading, and workspace names containing characters like < and & read correctly in startup messages.
ImprovedClearer names for screen readers. Screen readers announce supertag tiles and Manage workspaces rows by the name you can see, and a tile's spoken name includes the inline references shown on it.
FixedAI extraction no longer comes back empty. Extracting items from text or a voice memo, filling in fields with AI, detecting who spoke in a transcript, matching those speakers to meeting attendees, and matching mentioned names to nodes you already have could come back with nothing when there was something to find. They work again.
FixedMeeting-notetaker audio is more reliable on macOS. Fixed an issue where the meeting notetaker would intermittently lose audio on macOS.
FixedDesktop MCP clients stay approved. Some MCP clients such as Claude Desktop will now keep the access you approved instead of asking again about every 30 minutes.
FixedEditing focus no longer sticks until you reload. Typing could stop reaching the editor until you reloaded the page, and the caret could keep pulling back to a spot you had already left. Focus stays where you put it.
FixedDialogs and hidden sidebars get out of the way. Closing a dialog with Escape or a click outside, or opening another one over it, finishes whatever was waiting on your answer. A fully hidden sidebar no longer catches clicks or keyboard focus.
FixedSearch refreshes no longer duplicate rows. A search that refreshed while you were working could list the same node twice and overcount the items it filtered out. Results keep one copy of each node.
FixedPasted outlines and angle brackets come through intact. Pasting a multi-level outline expands every branch, not only the first, so nothing looks like it went missing. Text in angle brackets survives as written, whether that is an address like <you@acme.com> or a placeholder like <name>. Links using app schemes such as message:, obsidian:, and zotero: keep their addresses through an edit.
FixedExternal links, images, and downloads. Adding an image by URL no longer fails with an internal error, and an external link in the editor opens a single tab. Download on an externally hosted image, attachment, audio recording, or node background saves the file. When it cannot be fetched directly, Tana Outliner opens the original link.
FixedTemplate links install again. Opening any template link reported that the template was not found. Template links load and install again.
FixedRepublishing switches cleanly between Tana View and Article. Switching an already published page from Tana View to Article refreshes what visitors see at its address. A page also stays up when one of its media files cannot be copied while publishing.
